I grew up in a little town in Northern California, with my 11 siblings (7 brothers and 4 sisters). After my mom started working at a dental office when I was 12, she came home one day and said, “One of my children needs to be a dental hygienist!” So, I accepted the challenge. After I graduated high school, I went to BYU in Utah to do my pre-requisites for dental hygiene. After two years there, I went to dental assisting school to make sure I liked dentistry, and after that year, I knew dental hygiene was right for me. I went to Utah College of Dental Hygiene, where I received my bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene. I worked in southern Utah, before my husband and I moved to Alaska. My husband was introduced to aviation here, and has always “wanted to fly in Alaska,” so here we are!
Working for Dr. Johnson has been a great experience. The patient’s comfort and happiness are his main focus, along with providing the best treatment possible. I love the relationships that are formed with the patients, being able to help others regain and maintain healthy mouths, and the satisfaction of doing a good job.
I love doing anything outdoors: camping, hiking, rock climbing, biking, and sports. We are blessed to have been able to move up here, and are looking forward to enjoying our first “Alaska summer.”
