The Doctor

Dr. Johnson graduated with Honors from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 1987. He has worked as a faculty member at the University of Washington Dental School and the University of Leeds, England. As a dental student, he learned good general dentistry skills, but over time he discovered that to best serve his patients, he needed to expand his skill set to offer the only the best and most current dental services possible. Throughout the last 20 years, Dr. Johnson has been a continual student and amassed over 3000 hours of continuing dental education. With a primary focus on Cosmetic and Comprehensive Dentistry, he has trained with most of the masters in dental education including implant legends Dr. Branemark from Sweden and Dr. Carl Misch of the US. He is the only dentist in Anchorage, or all of Alaska, to have graduated from the prestigious Center for Advanced Dental Study and to have taken the full curriculum of the L.D. Pankey Institute. As well, he has Invisalign (invisible braces) certification, training in oral conscious sedation (sleep through your dental visit), “Smart Implant” certification, and multiple courses in advanced root canal therapy from the renowned Steve Buchanan in Santa Barbara, California. When it comes to dentistry, he’s your man!
When not in the dental office, Dr. Johnson spends time with his wife, Leslie, and their two children exploring Alaska by air, kayaking, biking, climbing and photographing. During the winter, he enjoys all forms of skiing, immersing his family in new cultures, and traveling abroad to adventure, hike and scuba dive.
