Meet The Team

Tammy is a lifelong Alaskan with more than 30 years of experience in dentistry. She began her career as a dental assistant, training on the job before completing the Dental Assisting Program at UAA, where she graduated at the top of her class. After 20 years chairside, she transitioned into administration and now serves as the New Patient Coordinator at Excellence in Dentistry in Anchorage. Tammy loves connecting with patients, sharing her knowledge, and helping them understand their dental health and treatment options.

Outside the office, Tammy enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, watching movies, and singing and dancing at the American Legion in Palmer. She’s a proud mom and grandmother, with family in Anchorage and Wasilla, and a devoted dog mom to her cheerful little Maltipoo, Abby.

Born and raised in Alaska, I’ve always appreciated the beauty and adventure our state offers. My husband and I are grateful to work for local organizations that allow us to give back to our community and enjoy everything Alaska has to offer— from winter activities to summer fun.

With many years in the dental field, I’ve had the privilege of helping patients in several areas of the office, from assisting to administration and billing. At Excellence in Dentistry, I love helping patients understand and maximize their dental benefits. It’s rewarding to be part of a team that provides advanced, comprehensive care and supports patients in achieving their best smiles.

Nicole has been a part of the dental field since 2003 and brings a unique passion for both accounting and untangling the complexities of health insurance. She loves helping patients navigate the details behind the scenes so they can focus on what matters most – their health and smile. Her favorite part of working in dentistry is seeing patients achieve their oral health and smile goals and knowing she played a parti in their journey.

Outside the office, Nicole enjoys spending time with her husband and their 5 children. You can often find her skiing, hiking, or expressing her creative side through painting.

With more than 26 years in dentistry, I’ve had the privilege of serving in many roles within the dental field. These days, I find the greatest fulfillment in helping people restore their smiles and practices stay financially healthy. Ensuring everyone receives excellent compensation and benefits is both an honor and a rewarding part of my work.

An introvert who’s learned the art of extroversion, I cherish time with my husband of 24 years and our 10-year-old daughter. I’m a proud Siamese cat lover and devoted Chocolate Lab fan who enjoys simple Alaskan adventures and the beauty of quiet living.

Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, Curtis brings 16 years of dental hygiene experience to Excellence in Dentistry, along with a background shaped by his service in the United States Marine Corps. He joined the Marines at 17, serving four years on active duty as a Motor Transport Instructor, followed by four years of inactive duty. His military experience instilled the dedication, discipline, and commitment he brings to patient care today.

Curtis began his career as a Dental Hygienist 16 years ago and spent five years in Bethel, Alaska, providing dental care through the Indian Health Service. He joined the Excellence in Dentistry team in December 2025 and quickly found a place he calls home. He especially enjoys building meaningful relationships with his patients and being part of the practice’s supportive, positive team.

Outside the office, Curtis enjoys making the most of Alaska’s outdoors. He loves hiking, biking, fishing, camping, kayaking, and just about anything that gets him outside.

Janae has been a dedicated dental assistant since 2009, bringing skill and care to her patients with expanded functions expertise. She loves making a difference in people’s smiles and enjoys working closely with patients. Outside the dental office, she is a passionate photographer. In her free time, she enjoys hunting with her husband and pup, embracing the great outdoors.

Kayleena has recently started her new journey at Excellence in Dentistry and has since fallen in love with the team. Dentistry can be very hard, but with the right team, it feels like family and it makes it all worth it.

She has been in dentistry for about 2 years and looks forward to continuing growing her skills in Dental Assisting and Admin Reception. She likes to spend her free time with her family and fur babies.

Born and raised in Anchorage Alaska, Shandalyn graduated in 2015 as a certified dental assistant from Manatee Technical College in Bradenton Florida. She married her high school sweetheart and they have been together since 2010. When not at work, she loves to cook, watch movies, and vacation where there are theme parks. Dental assisting has been a very rewarding part of her life as she enjoys helping people and looks forward to learning new things every day to continue growing her knowledge and experience.
